Inner Child Peace

On October 25, 2025, a mentorship session titled “Inner Child Peace” was conducted by Ms. Najia Latifi, a Personal Development Coach based in Canada. The session was held online via Google Meet from 7:00 to 8:30 PM (Afghanistan time).

Approximately 20 women from Afghanistan and Canada participated in the session. The main objective of this program was to support women’s mental health and emotional resilience, particularly for those living in challenging and crisis conditions in Afghanistan. Through this initiative, participants were encouraged to focus on self-awareness and cultivate inner balance and peace.

Discussion Focus

The session explored the psychological structure of human personality, emphasizing that every individual has three internal components:

  1. Inner Child
  2. Inner Parent
  3. Inner Adult

The primary focus of the mentorship was on understanding and soothing the Inner Child, which was discussed in three categories:

  • Adapted Child: This part of the personality adjusts itself to gain safety and acceptance. It may appear calm and obedient but often suppresses genuine emotions and needs.
  • Rebellious Child: Reactive and resistant, this aspect expresses anger, frustration, and dissatisfaction. Such behavior usually originates from emotional neglect or unmet needs during childhood.
  • Free (or Natural) Child: The healed part of the Inner Child that lives in the present moment, balanced and in harmony with oneself and the surrounding environment.

The purpose of this training was to help participants identify and balance the adapted and rebellious aspects of their Inner Child, ultimately guiding them toward a state of emotional stability and inner harmony.

Closing Meditation

In the final part of the program, a guided relaxation meditation was conducted, allowing participants to connect deeply with their Inner Child. During this exercise, they were encouraged to recognize their positive personal qualities and express their emotions and reflections through writing.
