Zeinat Soleiman

Zeinat Soleiman was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, where she began her academic journey in law at one of the country’s leading law faculties. As a high-achieving student, she actively engaged in national and international peace-related initiatives, demonstrating a strong commitment to justice, social awareness, and civic responsibility.

Following the Taliban’s return to power in 2021, Zeinat was forced to leave Afghanistan. After spending six months in a refugee camp in Albania, she resettled in Canada and is currently based in Toronto.

Despite the challenges of displacement and resettlement, Zeinat remained deeply committed to social and community work. With a particular focus on empowering immigrant women and youth, she co-founded the organization Hoviat, where she plays a key role in shaping its vision and mission.

Zeinat is currently pursuing studies in Administrative Management – Health Services at Seneca College in Toronto. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, she seeks to contribute meaningfully to creating equitable opportunities for immigrant and refugee women.

With a strong belief in women’s potential and the importance of amplifying their voices, Zeinat sees Hoviat as a platform to strengthen women’s awareness, self-confidence, and cultural and social identity. She hopes the organization will continue to support Afghan women—both within Afghanistan and across the diaspora—by fostering positive, sustainable, and just change.
