She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Political Science from the Department of Judiciary and Prosecution. From 2015 until the fall of the Afghan Republic in 2021, she was actively engaged in legal, social, and educational fields, contributing to initiatives aimed at justice, gender equality, and community development.

During this period, Fatana served as Deputy for Student Affairs at a private university and as Gender Officer at the Northern Zone Water Supply Directorate. She also played an active role in several national projects, including the National Action Plan (NAP), Vital Literacy programs, and initiatives focused on strengthening women’s participation and leadership.

Due to increasing security threats, Fatana was forced to leave Afghanistan and currently resides in Turkey. Nevertheless, her commitment to justice and human rights remains unwavering. She is a member of the Association of Independent Afghan Defense Attorneys in Exile (AIBAE) and an active member of HOVIAT. Drawing on her legal expertise and field experience, she leads HOVIAT’s Advocacy Committee, working continuously to support refugees, migrant women, and survivors of structural violence through legal advocacy, awareness-raising, and rights-based initiatives. Fatana remains a steadfast voice for justice and an inspiring role model for the new generation of lawyers and human rights defenders.
