Fatana Hakimi is a human rights lawyer and women’s rights activist from Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Political Science and has been actively engaged in legal, social, and educational work from 2015 until 2021.

She has served in various professional roles, including Deputy Student Affairs Officer at a private university and Gender Specialist at the Northern Water Supply Department. She has also contributed to national initiatives such as the National Action Plan (NAP), literacy programs, and women’s participation projects.

Following forced migration due to security challenges, she is currently based in Turkey and continues her professional engagement in human rights and advocacy work. She is a member of the Afghan Independent Bar Association in Exile (AIBAE).

As the Head of the Advocacy Committee at HOVIAT – Women’s Identity, her work focuses on supporting refugee women, migrants, and survivors of structural violence through legal empowerment, advocacy, and awareness-raising initiatives.

She is a committed voice for justice and continues to play an active role in strengthening access to rights for vulnerable communities.
