In August 2026, HOVIAT provided legal advice and guidance to nearly 10 Afghan women. The cases were supported by HOVIAT’s Legal Advisory Committee, which includes Afghan women lawyers living outside Afghanistan.
The cases included forced marriage, family violence, child custody, and underage marriage. Due to the seriousness of some of the cases, at least six women requested psychological support and, based on their needs, were referred to HOVIAT’s volunteer psychological counsellors.
These services are part of HOVIAT’s efforts to provide women with access to legal and psychological support during difficult circumstances.
